About me
I have worked as an artist and teacher for over eighteen years. Originally from Maine, I lived in Mexico for 13 years until I relocated to Albuquerque, NM nine years ago. I received a B.A. in Visual Arts from Brown University and an M.A. in Education. While living in Mexico I continued my studies in printmaking and pursued my photography work traveling to all corners of the country. I also worked at several international schools teaching photography, printmaking, drawing and painting. In 2005, I founded and started a collective gallery/work-shop/darkroom space, Colectivo Progreso 81 in Guadalajara, Mexico. As an artist, I am always experimenting with a wide variety of media and techniques. My interests range from darkroom photography, to polaroid transfers to Photogravure to Monotypes to clay monotypes, to paper making and more. I have participated in over 20 collective art shows and three individual shows. In 2012 I received a National Art Teacher Fellowship Grant, awarded to 22 arts teachers in the U.S. With my funds I furthered my printmaking skills and became a member of New Grounds Print Workshop in Albuquerque, NM. Five years later I was able to purchase the Workshop along with three other artists. We are now Remarque/New Grounds Print Workshop. Please check our website at http://www.newgroundsprintshop.com/.
